Pharmacy Overview
Pharmacy is the intersection of medical science and patient safety. Every drug dispensed, every formulation developed, and every treatment protocol that reaches a patient goes through the knowledge and judgement of a pharmacist. It’s a field that demands accuracy and accountability, and that’s what SIMS pharmacy education is all about.
SIMS pharmacy students are placed in a live hospital setting from the very beginning of their training. With access to a teaching hospital with more than 1,100 beds, you’ll gain hands on experience with real prescriptions, patients and clinical choices not simulations. Faculty are all people who are doing the job now, so what is taught in class is relevant to what hospitals and pharmaceutical organisations need right now.
The programmes cover the full range of pharmaceutical science, including drug formulation, pharmacology, quality assurance, clinical pharmacy, and regulatory affairs, to prepare graduates for careers in hospitals, retail pharmacy, pharmaceutical industries, and research.
