Diploma in CT Scan Technician Size

Computed Tomography (CT) scan technicians use equipment that is vital in the diagnosis of injuries, tumours, vascular conditions and complex internal disorders. SIMS students get to work directly with the Spiral CT facility available in the teaching hospital. This is one of the many advanced diagnostic tools available on the SIMS campus, the others being MRI-1.5 Tesla, ultrasound and colour Doppler.

Programm Details

2 Years, Full-time
 

12th with PCB or PCM – 35% marks

Selection will be based on the merit of the 12th board. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria are called for counselling and document verification at the SIMS campus. There is no separate entrance examination at the institute level for this programme.

The program consists of cross-sectional anatomy, principles of CT imaging, radiation safety, contrast protocols, patient positioning, and basic image interpretation. Students are posted to the hospital’s radiology and imaging department for clinical posting under supervision.
